The Celebrate Micronesia Festival returns this year showcasing traditional and contemporary art, dance, fashion and music of the people and cultures of the Republic of Palau, the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas, Guam, Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei, Kosrae, Kiribati and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. There will be live performances, demonstrations, cultural exhibits, and films. Don’t miss out this Saturday, May 11, 9am to 4pm at the Bishop Museum!
This celebration is hosted by the Bishop Museum in partnership with Hawai’i-based Micronesian community leaders and organizations. The festival is free and open to the public. Food available for purchase. Admission to Bishop Museum exhibit space is a separate charge. This program will be filmed for a video to be posted to social media, and audience members may be interviewed.
