The Renée Heyum Pacific Islander Fund in Pacific Island Studies was established by the late R Renée Heyum, former curator of the Pacific Collection, Hamilton Library, to assist students who are enrolled in any field of study at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
Requirements: The prospective recipient should be: (1) indigenous to the islands of Melanesia, Micronesia, or Polynesia; (2) enrolled full time for academic credit as graduate or undergraduate students at a campus of the University of Hawaii; and (3) Pacific Island students enrolled in non-credit education and/or training programs may also be considered for assistance. The selection committee will review each applicant’s academic performance, potential to make a contribution to his or her country of origin, and need for financial support. Scholarship is open to international students.
