The students of the planning committee for the upcoming Blue Pacific: Reclaiming Oceania Futures,7th Annual Center for Pacific Islands Studies Student Conference, are pleased to announce the confirmation of Dame Meg Taylor as one of our keynote speakers!
Dame Meg is the first woman appointed to the esteemed post of Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum, a political grouping of 18 member countries including Australia, the Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, the Republic of Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Sāmoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
Keynote addresses and the student conference, scheduled for 15-16 March at the Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, are free and open to the public.
