The students of the planning committee for the upcoming Blue Pacific: Reclaiming Oceania Futures, 7th Annual Center for Pacific Islands Studies Student Conference, are pleased to announce the confirmation of a third distinguished keynote speaker.
Tarisi Vunidilo is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo. She is also the Secretary-General for the Pacific Islands Museums Association (PIMA), working remotely between offices in Port Vila, Vanuatu and Hilo, Hawaiʻi. Dr. Vunidilo is a respected scholar who has an established record of teaching, research, and service in Hawaiʻi, New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji.
Dr. Vunidilo is part of an esteemed lineup of keynote speakers that will also include internationally acclaimed poet performance artist, and educator Kathy Jeñil-Kijiner, and Dame Meg Taylor, Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum.
Keynote addresses and the student conference, scheduled for 15-16 March at the Kamakakūokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, are free and open to the public.
