Applictions are now open for this summer’s Palau Field School!
The summer 2019 offering of Graduate Seminar: Change in the Pacific (PACS690) and Topics in Pacific Islands Studies (PACS 492), is heading to Palau from the 4th – 20th of July! We will be collaborating with Dr. Katerina Teaiwa of the School of Culture, History & Language at the Australian National University to put together groups of students from Honolulu and Canberra to learn more about Palau, and its relation to the broader Pacific and world. This course offers students first-hand experience of understanding the complex relationships between gender, environment, tourism, regional and political affairs and the arts in Palau. With support from the local Palau Community College, UH Mānoa and other students will have the opportunity to engage with students, scholars, activists and artists on critically important issues facing Palau specifically, and greater Oceania more broadly.
