Jill Omori is an assistant professor of family medicine and community health.

Her main objectives as a medical educator are to empower and inspire her students to want to be more than just good doctors, but rather great doctors who push themselves to be critical thinkers and lifelong learners.

Omori is establishing herself as an expert in healthcare for homeless patients through the Hawai‘i Homeless Outreach and Medical Education Project. She also shares this expertise generously with students and residents.

The Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching is awarded by the Board of Regents as tribute to faculty members who exhibit an extraordinary level of subject mastery and scholarship, teaching effectiveness and creativity and personal values that benefit students.
