Charles A. Moore Philosophy Reading Room

Sakamaki Hall D-309 

The Department maintains the Charles Moore Reading Room, a private philosophy library with philosophical and linguistic reference materials, back issues of prominent philosophical journals, an archive of department dissertations and theses, and a swath of primary and secondary sources in most western and non-western areas of philosophy. UHM philosophy graduate students have access to this library, including borrowing privileges and study space.

Eliot Deutsch Seminar Room

Sakamaki Hall C-302 

In the fall of 2010, the department declared Sakamaki Hall C-308 the Eliot Deutsch Seminar Room. The room contains an almost comprehensive collection of the works of Eliot Deutsch, Professor Emeritus, UHM Department of Philosophy. All graduate seminars are held in this room.

PSA Research Lab

Sakamaki Hall C-306 

Located in the C-Wing of Sakamaki Hall, the PSA Research Lab provides workspace for members of the PSA, the Department’s graduate student association.

Faculty and Student Lounge

Sakamaki Hall C-308 

The lounge is the intellectual hub of the department. It is the location of choice for the Department’s mealtime crowds, and departmental colloquia, workshops, and parties are usually held here.
