Advising:

The Education Academy students are supported by a community counselor. Services include guiding students to sources of financial aid, academic counseling, sessions with College of Education advisors, and help with completing application forms. The community counselor assists the Academy students in obtaining their associate's degrees. S/he further assists these students in their efforts to meet the requirements to gain admittance to the University of Hawai'i at Manoa College of Education Preservice Teacher Education Program.

Community Scholars:

The Education Academy provides Community Scholars as Instructors to enhance Academy students' understanding of the Wai'anae Coast Culture.

Special Classes:

The Education Academy provides special classes for Academy students which will enhance their ability to become excellent teachers of Wai'anae Coast students. It also provides supplemental funds towards courses at Leeward Community College - Wai'anae. These are college courses that would not have been brought out to LCCW otherwise. The instructors are from the main LCC campus, Pearl City. The supplemental courses are the College of Education core courses, which enables students to finish their AA degrees sooner.

Support Group:

The Education Academy staff is there to assist students with class concerns, financial concerns, and transportation concerns. Staff is also there to assist students through personal obstacles/issues that may be preventing Academy members from completing their goal of becoming a teacher on the Wai'anae Coast.

Through the Academy, applicants and members are able to join together to establish their own support group.

The Academy also provides support for UH transition. The Academy makes sure that their students have a smooth transition to UH.

Financial Assistance:

The Academy puts together a Financial Assistance package which consists of scholarship, and financial aid applications. The community counselor assists the students in filling out the applications.
