Eligibility:
- Be Hawaiian
- Be a United States Citizen & a Hawai'i Resident
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent
- Be a classified student in a degree-seeking program
- Be enrolled full-time in regionally accredited two- or four-year post-high
degree program
- Demonstrate financial need
- Satisfactory academic requirements
Required Application Forms:
- KS Standard College Financial Aid Application (postmarked by March
1)
- Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- KS Federal School Code E00725
New Applicant's Require Supporting Documents (priority deadline May 15):
- Birth Certificates: Three (3) generations' original official certificates
of live birth (full birth record with certification seal; certificates
will be returned to applicant's permanent address)
--1) Applicant's
--2) Hawaiian parent (either if both are Hawaiian)
--3) Hawaiian grandparent (parent of #2)
- Official high school transcript covering at least seven (7) semesters
for graduating high school seniors
- Official college transcript(s). ALL previous college coursework.
- College acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions and Records
- Placement test results from the community college placement testing
office
- Signed copies of federal 1040 income tax returns for BOTH you and/or
your parent(s)/guardian(s); OR you and/or your spouse.
- W-2 and/or 1099 form(s) signed by you/and or your parent(s)/guardian(s)
and or your spouse if a federal 1040 income tax return will not be filed
with the I.R.S.
- Non-Tax Filing form to be signed by you and/or your parent(s)/guardian(s)
and/or spouse if a federal 1040 income tax return will not be filed
with the I.R.S.
- DHS verification statement, benefit summary or note from your social
worker indicating the amount of welfare monies you/your family received
for the year.
- Social Security statement verifying the amount you/your family received
for the year.
- Electronic Student Aid Report (ESAR) - You must include the KS
Federal School Code E00725.
Renewal Applicants to Graduate or Undergraduate Program:
- College acceptance letter (copy)
- Official college transcript, including the previous semester
- Signed copies of federal 1040 income tax returns signed by you/parents
or you/spouse
- W-2 and/or 1099 form(s) for both you/parent or you/spouse
- Non-Tax Filing form signed by you/parents or you/spouse
- DHS verification statement
- Social Security statement
- Electronic Student Aid Report (ESAR) - You must include the KS
