Adding/Removing Authorized Users & Changing Ownership


Step 1: Navigate to https://www.hawaii.edu/its/id/ and click on Manage Username within the navigation bar at the top or under the Managing Your Departmental/Organizational UH Usernames section header.


Step 2: If you are the owner or an authorized user of a Departmental/Organizational UH Username, log in with your personal UH username and password.

Note: Do not log in with the Departmental/Organizational UH Username's credentials.


Step 3: After logging in, you will see a listing of all Departmental and Organizational UH Usernames you manage. In this example, our Departmental/Organizational UH Username is 'testdep'. Click on the Departmental/Organizational UH Username you would like to manage. If you manage many Departmental/Organizational UH Usernames, use the search box to narrow down your results. The search box accepts asterisks as wildcards (e.g., searching ‘dept*’ will return ‘dept1’, ‘dept2’, etc.).

Note: Managing Departmental/Organizational UH Usernames is restricted to owners and authorized users. If you do not see the Departmental/Organizational UH Username you would like to manage listed, you may lack permission to make changes to that account.


Step 4: After selecting a Departmental/Organizational UH Username to manage, you will see information about the username, such as the display name and a list of all authorized users. The current owner of the Departmental/Organizational UH Username is adjacent to the selected radio button, while all other authorized users are displayed next to the empty radio buttons. At the bottom of the page, click on Update Username.


Step 5: After clicking Update Username, you can make changes to your Departmental/Organizational UH Username. Changes to authorized users can be made under the Authorized Users section.

  • To change ownership:
    1. Click on the Owner radio button next to the authorized user you wish to make owner.
    2. Click Submit Request.
  • To add an authorized user:
    1. Enter the authorized user's UH Username.
    2. Enter the authorized user's telephone number.
    3. Click Add user.
    4. Click Submit Request.
  • To remove an authorized user:
    1. Click Remove next to the authorized user you wish to remove.
    2. Click Submit Request.
Note: Multiple changes can be made before clicking Submit Request.
