Proposed Administrative Rules Changes


Pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statutes Chapter 91, the University of Hawai‘i published a notice on September 18, 2017 for a public hearing held on October 19, 2017 at 9:30am in the University of Hawai‘i Information Technology Center relating to amendments to the following Hawai‘i Administrative Rules (HAR): proposed simultaneous repeal of Chapter 20-1, "Rules of Practice and Procedure", and the adoption of Chapter 20-1.1, "Rules of Practice and Procedure"; amending Chapter 20-8 "State Higher Education Loan Fund"; amending Chapter 20-10 "Delinquent Financial Obligations"; and amending Chapter 20-12 "Parking and Operation of Motor Vehicles". The Board of Regents will have a full opportunity to discuss and make further modifications to the rules to accommodate comments and concerns raised during the public hearing. That discussion will take place at a future Board public meeting.

The University of Hawai‘i published a notice of repeal on May 26, 2017 of Chapters 20-16 Personal Records and 20-24 University-Owned Faculty Housing Units, Hawai‘i Administrative Rules (HAR). Pursuant to Section 91-6, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, the thirty day period to petition the University Board of Regents regarding the proposed repeals expired on June 30, 2017. These repeals are currently pending Governor's final approval.

The University of Hawai‘i published a notice of repeal on April 28, 2017 of Chapters 20-17 Collection of Voluntary Contributions, 20-20 Protection of Educational Rights and Privacy of Students, and 20-42 Hawai‘i State Postsecondary Review Program, Hawai‘i Administrative Rules (HAR). Pursuant to Section 91-6, Hawai‘i Revised Statutes, the thirty day period to petition the University Board of Regents regarding the proposed repeals expired on May 31, 2017. These repeals are currently pending Governor's final approval.
