In 2015, just after graduation, Trangmar was invited to take part in the prestigious 2015 ARTISTS OF HAWAI‘I exhibition, whereupon she further developed her BFA project. More recently, this expanding project resulted in a commercial commission for International Marketplace store, Kula & Ko. - a wallpaper design that draws inspiration from 18th century 'Toile de Jouy' designs and vintage aloha shirts. The illustrations tell the story of Kula and Kō's place within Hawaii's history of pineapple production from plantation time to the present day baking of it's specialty pineapple cake bars. Typographic elements were incorporated into the design to aid in communicating fun brand related facts.
Art Directed by Middle Management’s Ryan Yamamoto and Matthew Honda (also UH alumni).
