Professor Jaimey Hamilton Faris has been invited to be the Cranbrook Critical Studies Fellow for Spring 2015. Cranbrook Academy of Art is one the premier art schools in the US and its fellows are chosen each year to reflect the most current intellectual discourse within contemporary architecture, art, and design. Her public lectures will concentrate on grounding current debates about art and cosmopolitanism in a materialist perspective, summed up in the following question: How does art garner respect for the ability of objects, materials, and forces to move us in more ethical directions?
