Alice Nitta
2010
Alice Nitta is a lecturer in the language arts department at Leeward Community College. She teaches a wide range of courses including English as a Second Language, English Language Literature and English 21, Introduction to College Reading.
Nitta utilizes a variety of technology in her classes such as Turning Technology™ Clickers, which is a real-time student response program, and embraced the use of the recently acquired Reading Plus™ computerized silent reading fluency program.
She actively seeks opportunities to improve her professional development. Nitta also regularly volunteers for Leeward Community College’s Family Fun Day, welcome committee and recycling committee.
Colleagues say Nitta is an enthusiastic and energetic teacher that is always available to help her students succeed.
