Merle Miyauchi
2009
Merle Miyauchi served as an office assistant at Leeward Community College before retiring December 2008. She was with the university for nearly 40 years, of which 26 were dedicated to serving Leeward.
As the primary contact for the business office for purchasing questions, Miyauchi always remained patient, calm and understanding to every situation and earned the trust and respect of her peers. Her hard work and extreme knowledge of the university’s policies and procedures made Leeward the leader in purchasing.
A strong advocate to serve the college selflessly, Miyauchi faithfully volunteered her time and services at numerous campus events.
The Leeward Community College Chancellor’s Award recognizes a civil service or administrative, professional and technical employee for outstanding demonstrated work performance, service, leadership and/or fostering of excellence in higher education.
