Dr. Eric Attias is a research affiliate faculty with the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoaʻs Hawai‘i Institute of Geophysics and Planetology. Dr. Attias discusses the marine geophysics component of the Hawai‘i EPSCoRʻs ‘Ike Wai project using a newly developed surfaced-towed controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) system and 2D/3D inversion algorithms to study the spatial distribution and interconnectivity of the Hualālai groundwater system offshore of the Kona coastline of Hawai‘i island.
