Myanmar: Looking Ahead

April 15, 2016 - April 16, 2016
Mānoa Campus, John A. Burns Hall, Room 3121-3125

Historic elections recently held in Myanmar brought to power the National League for Democracy (NLD), the party headed by Aung San Suu Kyi. This, and the opening of Myanmar to the outside world over the past 4-5 years, has resulted in dynamic change within the country. There is the promise of a brighter future, yet many challenges remain. Our guest speakers represent a broad spectrum of Myanmar society: academic, NGO/civil society, and military. They are all Fellows at the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies.

Dr. Min Thaung, Professor, International Relations Department, Dagon University, Myanmar
