SUZANNE WOLFE AND THE UTTER JOY OF RETIREMENT

We have been asking Professor Emeriti SUZANNE WOLFE what she has been up since she retired and her answer is, “More Active Than Ever!” She finally took a moment to send us a list of selected activities. We are so proud and so jealous!!

Sponsored residency at Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taipei. Some of the pieces produced are now in Museum’s permanent collection.

Solo exhibition at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, PA

Three conferences in China followed by three weeks in Jingdezhen.

October 14-17
Woodfiring conference at the Shanghai Institute for Visual Arts and featured in the opening exhibition.

October 17-20
The Art of Yixing Zisha — short talk at symposium

October 20-23
Participated in the Third Central China International Art and Design Forum at the Jingdezhen Ceramics Institute.
Presented a talk entitled “Rookwood Pottery as a Model for Artist/Industry Collaboration”

Back to Jingdezhen to continue her project!

Suzanne talks about her interest in bringing a group of students to Jingdezhen. “The porcelain claybody in Jingdezhe is beautiful – unlike anything we can get in the US. There is such a strong tradition of Asian ceramics that I would like to have our students have the experience of working here.” Now this is a project the department would LOVE to see happen.
