You are invited to attend the upcoming candidate presentations for the Assistant Professor of Kanaka Maoli Visual Art position in the Department of Art and Art History. These events are open to the public.

Tubbs grew up in Kapahulu and Kailua on the island of O‘ahu and currently resides in Brooklyn, New York. He has a BFA from University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and an MFA from Parsons, The New School. Tubbs utilizes found detritus to create sculptures and installations around themes of obsolescence, consumption, and ecology. He regards discarded objects as valuable resources, transforming them to tell their hidden stories and reveal their potential.
