Jessica Damsky is a practicing artist, teacher, and curator, based in Portland OR, but has previously been active in Seattle, Hawaii, and NYC. Her award-winning work has been shown nationally, and internationally. She has an MFA from the New York Academy of Art, and a BFA in Painting with a minor in Art History from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She currently has a tenure-track position, and is the Faculty Department Chair of Art at Portland Community College, Southeast.

Damsky is primarily an oil painter, using traditional painting techniques to address contemporary issues. Damsky's work explores how the present Western mindset towards femininity is shaped by antiquated belief structures. Her current body of work appropriates female archetypes from art history, and shows them under attack.
