BIO
Ka-Ning Fong immigrated from Hong Kong to Hawai‘i in 1967. He has been teaching courses on drawing and painting at UHM, Honolulu Community College and Windward Community College since 1982.

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS
Fong received the Best-of-Show Grand Prize at the 2009 JCC Annual Juried Exihbition, the Grand Prize “Tan Yi” Juror’s Award (Richard Marshall of Whitney Museum) in 1989, the Grumbacher Gold Medallion Award in 1984. He also received purchase awards from the Honolulu Academy of Arts in 1992 and 2001, and from the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts on numerous occasions from 1984 to 2010.
