Hello!
This is the first
issue of a yearly newsletter devoted to the use of pidgins and creoles
in education. One of the goals of the PACE project is to establish
a communication network among organizations and individuals interested
in the use of pidgins and creoles in education, and I hope that
this newsletter will help meet this goal. As promised, the newsletter
contains information about existing programs and evaluations. Quite
a lot of information in this issue comes from responses to the questionnaire
I sent out about a year ago. (Thanks to all those who responded!)
I’ve also included some background info from my own research.
I’m hoping that contributors will send in updates on the programs mentioned here and that readers ask other people working with pidgins and creoles in education to send information about their programs.
If you have any info you would like to share or you know of anyone who would be interested in receiving this newsletter, please drop me a line.
