Shaman Dance

Halla Huhm choreographed several dances based on traditional shaman rituals she studied in Korea. The descriptions of the following examples are based on information in programs from performances by the Halla Huhm Dance Studio.

Son Mudang Ch'um (Shaman Dance)

An apprentice shaman works with a client to restore peace and prosperity.

Obang-gi (Fortune Telling Dance)

The dance depicts the pulling of a flag from a bundle of flags of five different colors to tell fortunes.
