Pili i Ke kanaka with Dr. Kehau Abad

Hui ʻāina pilipili presents the next iteration of the Pili i ke Kānaka Indigenous guest speaker series with Dr. Kēhau Abad. As modern science catches up with the Kumulipo (and other amazing moʻolelo and moʻokūʻauhau from lāhui worldwide), and as the history of humanity and our honua becomes better understood, the incredible depth of ʻikena encoded in the Kumulipo and other mele and moʻolelo continue to reveal new insights. Explore what the haku mele of the Kumulipo and mele hulihia add to the current hot debates in the scientific community around the Younger Dryas and worldwide cataclysms. Also considered are aspects of kuanaʻike Hawaiʻi, especially how our kūpuna viewed great upheavals.
