An instructor in social science, Kathleen French has gained respect as a scholar and leader in the college community for her positive influence and commitment to student success.
For three years, French has coordinated Women’s History Month at Windward on her own. She gets grants, finds speakers and arranges venues and publicity. Women’s History Month is a popular program with audiences growing every year.
The Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching is awarded by the Board of Regents as tribute to faculty members who exhibit an extraordinary level of subject mastery and scholarship, teaching effectiveness and creativity and personal values that benefit students. The board also awards the Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Research.
