Lisa Tostenson is an assistant professor in nursing at the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Described by her nominators as possessing a “passion for nursing,” Tostenson’s teaching incorporates humor and real-life situations to skillfully guide her students toward critical thinking assessments relative to the evidence-based nursing process.
The Frances Davis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching recognizes dedication and demonstrated excellence as teachers of undergraduate students. It was established as a memorial to the late Frances Davis, who taught mathematics at Leeward Community College and UH Manoa for 19 years.
