Holding office hours
To hold office hours online, you can use Laulima's Chat Room tool. Unlike the system's other communication tools, communication in Chat Room is synchronous, so dialogue and feedback is immediate and more closely replicates a face-to-face conversation, making it more conducive for office hours. Note that the Chat Room is accessible to the entire class so private discussions may be better conducted over the phone. Additionally, webconference tools can also be used to facilitate office hours by conducting live meetings online with audio, video, and/or text.
