You have five scheduled major speaking opportunities in Speech 251, and at least two Impromptu opportunities throughout the semester. You can begin to prepare for them as soon as possible.
You will also have the opportunity to work in Teams and present Chapters from our Text to the rest of the class and incorpotate PowerPoint in your presentations. Click here to view the handouts for the Team Presentations and handouts for all of the speaking opportunities in Speech 251.
The first speaking opportunity is to Introduce a Classmate that you will interview in class. Your second opportunity is an Lyrical speaking opportunity. Your third opportunity will be an opportunity for you to become a storyteller. Your fourth opportunity will be to present a Motivational Message. Your fifth opportunity and final speaking opportunity is to present a commemorative speech paying tribute to someone who has made a significant difference in your life. You can begin preparation on all of these speaking opportunities by first, and most importantly, selecting a topic. If you are struggling to come up with a topic ask your friends and family, and please ask me or stop by my office.
