The Center for Biographical Research presents: / “In Community with Our Shared Place: A Teacher’s Journey” / Whitney Aragaki (she/they), 2022 Hawaiʻi State Teacher of the Year, 2022 National Teacher of the Year Finalist / In this talk, Whitney will share her continued teaching journey from her background as a Hawaiʻi public schools graduate through her experiences as the 2022 Hawaiʻi State Teacher of the Year and a National Teacher of the Year Finalist. She will discuss her experience of sharing the message of place-based education and the articulation of ʻāina aloha, machizukuri, and Hawaiʻi to a national audience. / Whitney Aragaki (she/they) is an educator, parent, and learner from Hilo, Hawaiʻi. She supports students to learn through a lens of abundance that honors place, people and cultures.
