Bollywood Mondays: 'Hichki' (2018)

January 28, 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Marine Sciences Building 100

After a four-year hiatus, superstar Rani Mukherji returns to the silver screen in a film about a dedicated teacher who suffers from Tourette syndrome. Facing widespread discrimination, she eventually earns a job in an elite institution but is stuck with the challenging task of educating an unruly group of underprivileged students.

'Hichki' (Hiccup) is a topical and heartwarming small-budget film that went on to be a Bollywood blockbuster, especially impressive for a movie with an established female lead. This is the first movie in the 17th UH Bollywood film series, this spring running one Monday afternoon per month.
