A Midsummer Night's Bollywood Dream Auditions

September 4, 5:30pm - 9:30pm
Mānoa Campus, Kennedy Theatre-1770 East-West Road

Come out and audition for Kennedy Theatre’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Bollywood Dream.

Auditions will be held on Tuesday, September 4th and Wednesday, September 5th.

Singing auditions are from 5:30pm-6:30pm with dance auditions and readings following from 6:30pm-9:30pm. All auditions are held in Kennedy Theatre’s Studio S (downstairs by the costume shop).

Please come prepared to sing 30 seconds maximum of a pop or Bollywood song with a backing track on your own device with cord or Bluetooth.

Make sure to wear clothes that you can dance in as you will be learning choreography.

You can either come with a 1 minute Shakespeare monologue or be ready to do a cold reading.

This production is co-directed by Paul Mitri and Sai Bhatawadekar, choreographed by Sai Bhatawadekar, and composed and music directed by Ike Webster.

From the creative team:

All roles are open.

We are looking for people who sing, or dance, or act, or any combination of those! This production is a joint collaboration between the Western and Asian Theatre Programs. While done in the style of Bollywood and set in India, the story and the text are still Shakespeare’s. This show promises to be a high-energy, raucous jaunt into a world where “the course of true love ne’er did run smooth” because “lovers have such seething brains.”

Rehearsals will take place during the fall semester, but we will work around other performance commitments.

Performances run Feb 1-10, 2019.
