In three minutes you can listen to a song, watch a TedTalk, or over-analyze a text message, but can you effectively communicate your thesis or dissertation in an engaging way to a non-specialist audience? We think you can! The Office of Graduate Education is proud to announce its Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition on Saturday, April 28, 2018. We hope you can join us for this exciting event.
Participants of this competition will be challenged to explain their thesis or dissertation research in three minutes or less in a spoken-word format (no raps, songs, videos, etc.) using one (1) static MS PowerPoint slide (no animations, special effects, music, etc.).
Eligibility:
- All UHM masters and doctoral students in good standing.
- Must be able to report on thesis or dissertation results or findings
Participants must register by Friday, March 23rd by 11:59 PM. Participants may bring up to 2 guests. This competition is limited to 100 participants.
In addition to bragging rights for your department or program, the First place winner will be awarded a $2,000 merit scholarship ($1,000 to the Runner Up, $1,000 to the People’s Choice).
