The Hawaii branch of the American Society for Microbiology (HI-ASM) brings together microbiologists from various island institutions such as universities, hospitals, government agencies, the military, and biotechnology companies.
The keynote speaker this year is Ilhem Messaoudi-Powers, Ph.D. who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at the University of California, Irvine and an Affiliate Scientist at the Oregon National Primate Research Center. Dr. Messaoudi-Powers will be presenting a lecture entitled "Aging and Immune Function: From Molecular Mechanisms to Intervention".
