UH Presents Faustwork Mask Theatre

November 9, 7:30pm - 9:00pm
Honolulu Campus, Orvis Auditorium

"Stunning... indefinable... somewhere between the sculptural fantasies of Mummenschanz and the precision mime of Marcel Marceau.” — The Montreal Gazette

New Orleans native Robert Faust has produced and created six shows that have toured theatres, festivals, schools, and universities across the globe. Before founding Faustwork Mask Theatre, Faust was a performer and choreographer with Pilobolus Dance Theatre, Martha Clarke, and the Paul Winter Consort. Faust says, “Masks are great catalysts for the indulgences and jollity that Mardi Gras inspires, and people who ordinarily might never speak to one another laugh, dance and misbehave together in the streets.”

Faustwork Mask Theatre will ignite audiences into laughter and the spirit of Mardi Gras will awaken within. Faust’s show is meant to be enjoyed by audiences of all ages, bringing them together in a night of hysterics. The New York Times calls Faustwork Mask Theater, “Hilariously hyperbolic… Tickles some sort of primal funny bone.”
