Rain Garden Workshop

In this class, Lyon Arboretum horticulturalist Gerrit Evensen will cover the basics of a rain garden (what, why and how), related landscape features (bioswales, detention/retention ponds, etc.), and general hydrology (tying into water issues, watershed dynamics, hydrology, groundwater aquifers,etc.). He will also highlight some of the plants that should and shouldn't be used in a rain, the possibility of growing edibles like kalo in such a system, and the use of grey water (benefits/problems/legal concerns).Class Cost: $20.
