This interactive workshop is developed from research on writing intensive practices and experiences to:
Explore faculty motives for assigning place-based writing, observations on course dynamics, and reflections on the outcomes of this approach.
Explore how these practices changed student understandings of disciplinary tenets and of local places.
Provide opportunities for attendees to adapt approaches that they can make their own.
