- Free coffee and treats, 9 a.m.-7 p.m., Classroom and Laboratory (D and E) building tunnels

Get your day started with a warm drink and free snacks. Free “care packs” (school supplies) for success, while supplies last. Talk story with UHWO student leaders.

- Intramural Sports Promotion, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., UHWO Courtyard

Play tennis, football toss, and softball. Stay fit, active and make intramural sports a part of your college experience.

- ʻOnipaʻa: Turning Points, 9:30-10:45 a.m., UHWO Library ‘Ulu‘ulu Exhibition Space

Come learn about two important turning points in Hawai‘i history the overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawai‘i (Jan. 17, 1893) and the commemoration march and events held at ‘Iolani Palace on the 100th anniversary of the overthrow in 1993. UHWO faculty members Dr. Leilani Basham, Dr. Masahide Kato, and Dr. Kealani Cook will present research on both events and share how each has impacted the people of Hawai’i. ‘Ulu‘ulu Archive will also show historic footage of the 1993 march.

- Jam Session, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., UHWO Courtyard

Enjoy the serenading sounds of fellow UHWO students sharing their talents. Featuring South African musician and music therapist Sharon Katz from noon-1 p.m.

- Film screening: “When Voices Meet”, 3:30-6:20 p.m., UHWO Library ‘Ulu‘ulu Exhibition Space

“When Voices Meet” chronicles the work of Katz and singer and educator Nonhlanhla Wanda in forming a 500-voice multiracial choir to break through Apartheid’s barriers following Nelson Mandela’s release from prison in 1990. Traveling aboard “The Peace Train” while being threatened with bombs, the choir prevailed and acted as ambassadors of peace during a tumultuous time in South African history.

- Game Night, 5-8 p.m., Student Lounge C214

Hang out at the Student Lounge, play games (Monopoly, cards, True Colors, etc.) and enjoy some coffee, teas and assorted snacks and make some new friends! Feel free to bring a board game to share with fellow students.
