Kaka‘ako: Our Kuleana: A Free Urban Planning Academy for Everyone is a free workshop series open to the public to learn about the development issues in Kaka‘ako and to engage in innovative placemaking ideas for Kaka‘ako’s future.
November 17: Civic Engagement in Kaka‘ako: Where do we go from here?
What role does the community play in Kaka‘ako? What is our kuleana? There are many roles that people can play to build a livable place for all in the heart of the urban core.

Kaka‘ako: Our Kuleana: A Free Urban Planning Academy for Everyone
This 6-week series of public workshops is intended to create a space for information sharing, dialogue and connection. We welcome everyone who is interested in Kaka’ako to learn about the challenges and possibilities in these changing neighborhoods in our urban core. User-friendly planning ideas and tools will be shared to help us explore our kuleana as stewards of its future.
The workshop series will be held on 6 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6-8 p.m. from October 13th to November 17th.

Where
All sessions will be held at the Hawai‘i Community Development Authority community room, American Brewery building at 547 Queen St.
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning will be giving a certificate of completion to those who attend four or more workshops in the educational series.
