One Billion Rising 2015
Thursday, February 12, 2015, 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
UH MÄnoa Campus Center Courtyard
One Billion Rising is an international campaign calling on 1 billion people throughout the world to Stop, Dance and Rise to represent the 1 billion women that suffer from violence (United Nations). This worldwide revolution is an invitation to join the movement in speaking out against sexual assault, domestic violence, sexual harassment and other forms of violence usually targeted at women. For more information on the One Billion Rising movement go to www.onebillionrising.org.
We have a great line up of dancers and musicians to get us moving, including BRAVE with Tia Sablan, Crimson Apple, Te Vevo Tahiti no MÄnoa, Island Zouk, Cherry Blossom Cabaret and more. Come check out demos from self-defense programs like Taekwondo Honolulu and Ed Davis Self-Defense. Be ready to RISE and DANCE against violence!
