Restoring Health Equity In Hawai'i
March 1, 2023 - March 31, 2023Mānoa Campus, Life Sciences Building room 227
We would like to extend an invitation to participate in our study at Maunakea lab (Located in LSB 227). Our study seeks to understand the relationship between the social environment during early adulthood and the progression of diabetes in the diverse populations of Hawaii. We are currently seeking participants between the ages of 20 and 50 years old. The study will collect health data from healthy, pre-diabetic, and diabetic participants over the next few years. Upon completion of the questionnaire and health metrics at our locations, participants will receive $100. The health metrics include a 5-minute diabetes test, height, weight, blood pressure, and a small blood sample of 30ml or about 3 tablespoons. Additionally, participants are asked to submit a stool sample that they will collect with a kit that will be provided when they come to our facility for their health metrics appointment and be willing to be followed up within 3 years of enrollment for a second data point. To register, please visit https://www.hiseed.org/.
