You are invited to the in-person keynote address delivered as part of the January 4-6, 2023 Hawai‘i International Conference on Chinese Studies. Speaker: Professor Lai Kwan Pang, Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Title of the talk: “Sovereignty in Translation: Modern to Contemporary China.” This is a Florence Liu Macaulay Distinguished Lecture. Thursday, January 5, 4:30 to 6:00 pm. Location: Auditorium in the Art Building, University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa campus. About 150 China scholars from the U.S., Asia, Europe and elsewhere will be attending the conference, now in its third year.
