Aloha, We are excited to announce that the East-West Center’s student-led International Graduate Student Conference (IGSC) is hosting Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio: This is the Way We Rise Film that is currently showing at Sundance Film Festival followed by a Talk Story (45 min) with Dr. Jamaica Heolimeleikalani Osorio (featured in the film) and Director Ciara Lacy. This is the Way We Rise depicts the movement to protect Mauna Kea, focusing on Dr. Osorio's creative process as it informs her work and role as kia'i (protector) of the mauna, while providing insights into how we can relate to the land and each other.
