Mining the HathiTrust

This workshop will give an overview of the HathiTrust and its uses. The HathiTrust is a massive preservation repository of digitized books and periodicals created by over 100 colleges and universities. As a member of the HathiTrust, the UHM community has access to the full text of all public domain works, and the ability to perform computations on the entire digital library.
The session will include:
- An overview of the HathiTrust
- Search strategies
- Downloading and working with PDFs
- Creating and finding collections
- Full text searching of copyright materials
- An overview The HathiTrust Research Center and further uses of the HathiTrust
Feel free to bring your own lunch. Beverages will be provided.
