Distance Education: Developing Your First Online Lesson

September 19, 12:00pm - 1:15pm
Mānoa Campus, Kuykendall 106 Add to Calendar

Many faculty feel they have to jump straight into teaching a full online course, when developing an online lesson for use in a face-to-face course would make a great pilot effort. In this fashion, there is less risk, less overwhelming commitment, and an opportunity to scale up at a future date. This professional development workshop will review a lesson template provided by the College of Education Jumpstart Program, followed by a discussion of examples in:

  • Content delivery (e.g. videos, screencasts, and lesson walkthroughs)
  • Assignments/assessments (e.g. text discussions, peer review and online feedback, self-recorded presentations)

Feel free to bring your own lunch. Beverages will be provided.
