Join Dr. Drazen, University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Oceanography Professor, on Thursday, March 7 as he shares his insights on the deep sea—the largest and least explored environment on the planet. Though unchartered territory, the deep sea is widely connected to our daily lives. Dr. Drazen will discuss the ecology of the deep sea before illustrating our connections to this system through fisheries and a recent resurgence of public interest in deep sea mining. Come and learn how understanding fisheries and deep sea mining will help us protect Hawaii’s final frontier.
