Become a Student Media Advocate: Student Media Board is Recruiting

August 20, 2018 - September 12, 2018
Mānoa Campus, 2445 Campus Road, HH 107 Add to Calendar

The UH Mānoa Student Media Board (SMB) is seeking student representatives to serve on its board (up to a 2-year appointment). SMB is also seeking up to two faculty/staff representatives to serve on the board. SMB is a Chartered Student Organization (CSO) recognized by the Board of Regents to govern KTUH, the campus radio station; Ka Leo O Hawai‘i, the campus news organization; UH Productions, video and film production; and Hawai‘i Review, the student literary journal.

SMB strives to continue improving each media program by weighing the needs of the student body and investing in resources that enhance the capabilities of student media. You will get to work directly on approving the programs’ budgets, interviewing job applicants, and strategic planning for outreach and fundraising events. This is a rare opportunity to shape student media and make a difference for the UH community.

Student positions are open to fee-paying undergraduate or graduate students at UH Mānoa with at least two semesters of coursework remaining.

The faculty position is open to all full-time or part-time faculty at UH Mānoa. The average required time commitment is about 10-15 hours a month.

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN and available online at http://www.manoanow.org/smb. Submit via email at uhsmb@hawaii.edu. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.

PRIORITY DEADLINE: Friday, Sept. 12, 2018. Applications will continue to be accepted until member positions are filled.
