Please join us for a Public Seminar with Ambassador Navtej Sarna, Ambassador of India to the United States

Ambassador Sarna will present an update on the India-U.S. global strategic partnership, which is based on shared democratic values and converging interests in bilateral, regional and global issues.

His Excellency Ambassador Navtej Sarna became India’s Ambassador to the United States on November 5, 2016. A member of the Indian Foreign Service since 1980, he has previously served as the High Commissioner of India to the United Kingdom and the Ambassador of India to Israel. He has also served as a diplomat in the cities of Geneva, Moscow,Tehran, Thimpu and Warsaw, and as spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs of India. He has a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from Delhi University and a Diploma in Journalism. Ambassador Sarna speaks English, Hindi, Punjabi and has knowledge of Russian and Polish. He has written several books including Second Thoughts: On Books, Authors and the Writerly Life (Harper Collins, 2015) and is a regular contributor to the Times Literary Supplement (UK) and several Indian journals.
