This preshow panel provides a larger political context for the devised theatre production "Smile, You're Under Surveillance!" (Kennedy Theatre, 7:30pm). Suzanna Reiss (History/UHM), Michael Shapiro (Political Science/UHM), Markus Wessendorf (Theatre & Dance/UHM), and Ben Wizner (Edward Snowden's ACLU lawyer) will discuss in which direction the Trump administration will likely take the surveillance state and how this will affect whistle-blowers, civil rights organizations, and the concerned citizenry.
