WHAT: This presentation by Visiting Scholar Dr. Andrew Doan will focus on how gaming might (or might not) impact student performances in the classroom and how physiological arousal is measured in gamers.

He will discuss how faculty can stimulate a student's brain to release hormones like cortisol to enhance learning. Dr. Doan encourages faculty to develop engaging, interactive, and fun material to enhance learning and memory formation in the classroom

Dr. Doan's research-based presentation will address:

  • Neuronal plasticity and how the brain learns and records memories
  • How digital media improves hand-eye coordination, mood, problem-solving skills, memory
  • and more...
