India-U.S. Relations: A Critical 21st Century Partnership

His Excellency Arun K. Singh, Ambassador of India to the United States, will present an update on India-U.S. relations in light of the recent heightened economic and diplomatic activity between the two countries, including Prime Minister Modi’s U.S. visit in June.

Ambassador Arun K. Singh assumed his assignment as Ambassador of India to the United States on April 30, 2015. Prior to that he served as Ambassador of India to France from 2013 to 2015, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of India, Washington D.C. from 2008 to 2013 and Ambassador of India to Israel from 2005 to 2008.

Ambassador Singh joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1979 after completing his Master’s Degree in Economics at Delhi University. He has served in: Moscow, Russia; Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; Tokyo, Japan; and as the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations Office in New York. He has also served in Delhi in various positions in the Ministry of External Affairs.
